In 2022, Dr. Sabrina Brown (Project Director), Kateyln Smith (Freshwater Research Technician), and Hallie Webb (Undergraduate Research Assistant) presented their work on diatoms at the Defiance College McMaster Symposium and the Ohio Academy of Science Annual Meeting.
Their work on diatoms in the Upper Maumee Watershed concludes that the season and temperature affect which diatoms are present and in which quantities, while laying the groundwork for further research in the future.
